Sept. 24 update: Google has been heard from -- sort of. The company has acknowledged there is a problem, and says it's working on it. No news on the future of FeedBurner, though. The good news, from our point of view, is that the email and RSS services still seem to be working.
The Internet is rife with rumors that Google is getting ready to shut down FeedBurner, the service I use so you can get the blog via email or RSS (to read through something like Google Reader). Google, as is its privilege, isn’t telling anyone anything, and has not yet responded to numerous support requests from blog owners throughout the cyber-ether on its support website.
FeedBurner has been acting goofy all week, and currently tells me no one is subscribing to the blog via email or RSS. Which, of course, isn’t true. The part of FeedBurner that sends the emails and RSS feed still seems to be working, and as far as I know everyone is still getting what they signed up for. If you aren’t, please let me know by clicking the email link at the top of the site.
My options are limited, and I will probably have to change services. If that happens, those of you who get the blog via email or RSS may have to resubscribe. I’ll keep you posted.
