There is a general improvement of quality in the world of wine, but other factors can be considered. Six of the nine judges were from USA, I could reasonably assume that American Wines are made mainly for an american taste. I don't say this because I don't believe NJ wines can be very good, but because usually a $ 100 wine tastes better than a $ 10 wine. Not always the case between a $100 and $300 wine.
