Got an email from Tim Hanni, who showed up in this space last week for his spot-on observations about wine writing -- that it leaves much to be desired. He is part of a project called the the Consumer Wine Awards, which is trying to redefine and improve the wine judging and tasting process. Sounds quite worthy to me.
Tim asked that those interested in helping with the process take this survey. it's a bit lengthy, but its goal is admirable -- to capture information about wine drinkers, their preferences, and how individual taste shapes the consumer preferences for wine.
