Yes, it’s OK for Dad to drink white wine for Father’s Day (especially since the forecast in Dallas calls for triple digit heat.) And, for those of you of who don’t trust the Wine Curmudgeon, Thursday’s Father’s Day wine roundup is very red.
The Goudichaud (about $16) is a white Bordeaux blend (mostly sauvignon blanc) and comes highly recommended from a visitor here. “A crisp white wine (with distinct peach flavor) well suited to the Texas summer, i.e., when it's ‘good and hot.’ “
And he is correct. I got more green apple than peach, but it’s dry with the mineral finish that is typical of white Bordeaux blends. Drink it chilled on its own, or with grilled chicken, seafood or just about any Father’s Day meal that isn’t a rib eye. It wouldn’t even be bad with a hamburger. I had it with barbecued chicken, a fine pairing.

That sounds good. I like to have an occasional wine drink with my grilled food. White wine usually goes good with chicken or seafood and red wine for beef.If you would like to see the collection of recipes and tips I have for grilling you can visit www.cookingandgrillinoutdoors.com
